Easy and quick search for the necessary product is very important for customers and consequently for the store. And usually customer doesn’t know the exact name of the product he is looking for, so he uses associated keywords. To help them find the certain product faster, you can add several tags to every product. At first it can be performed from the moment you create a product, right in the “Tags” field in the product’s Options. But in case tags wasn’t added, you can add them later. Let’s take a look at the simple process of how to do that in Prestashop 1.7:
In admin area of your web store please navigate in Configure section to:
Shop Parameters -> Search -> Tags (tab)
Once you opened the Tags tab, you’ll be able to see all the tags that are used in the store. As you noticed, there are no tags in our case. Let’s add some by clicking “Add new tag” button.
Well, it’s only few fields to fill out there:
All you need to do is just create a Name for the new tag (it should be short and associated with a product to help a customer easily find it), then choose the necessary Language, and finally select the Products this tag should be applied to. Just use Add and Remove buttons to move the required products from the left column to right.
After you finish, click Save button, and the tag you’ve just created will be applied to the products you selected. Further you can simply edit or delete the tags from the list, using the corresponding buttons.
That’s all. Adding tags to products will help your customers easier find the product they are looking for. And as the result you’ll achieve more sales.
