Hidden categories are categories that are not displayed neither in the main menu nor anywhere else on your website. Why would you need them?
Mostly, hidden categories are for internal purposes. Some create them to give a link to a category that is not included in the navigation menu.
To hide a category, go to Products > Categories
Then on the left select a category you want to hide.
To completely hide and deactivate a Category, do the following steps:
- Switch “Is Active” to “No” in General Settings.
- And then scroll down and Select “No” in “Include in Navigation Menu”.
- And then switch to the “Display Settings Tab and in “Is Anchor” select “No”.
Even if a category is hidden (deactivated), you can create subcategories and make them active.
Also if don’t want to include a category in Navigation Menu, but want to share it in a link, then do the following:
- Is Active: Yes;
- Include in Navigation Menu: No;
- Is Anchor: Yes.
